Before dental implants, patients with missing teeth had limited options for tooth replacement. Dental implants have been around for over 44 years now and are successfully restoring people’s confidence and smiles.
Implants can be used to replace a missing tooth or teeth, support dental bridges and/or to secure dentures. Unlike dentures, partials or bridges, dental implants replace the entire tooth, including the root. The implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth, with years of proven success.
Benefits of tooth/dental implants
Durable and long-lasting: Dental implants very seldom need to be replaced. With a regular and consistent cleaning regime in place, your implants should last a lifetime. The teeth implants won’t decay either.
Improve your chewing and jaw strength: Reliable and secure dental implants should help improve your chewing and jaw strength.
Comfortable and natural:Unlike dentures, dental implants are comfortable and look natural. They can also help prevent bone loss, which helps prevent sunken cheeks in later years.
Reliable and convenient: Implants don’t require any maintenance with adhesives to keep them in place. They are secure and comfortable.
Restores your smile and confidence: This wonderful procedure helps restore your confidence by improving your smile. You can feel confident and proud of your smile and enjoy sharing it with those around you.
How is the tooth implanted?
Your dentist will need scans and x-rays to fully assess your teeth and jaw. The implant is placed in the jawbone, allowing it to fuse with the bone. During the surgical procedure, your dentist will create space in your jaw where the implant is placed. The procedure may vary depending on the tooth damage.
Dental Implant procedure
A patient’s procedure time can vary, but generally it can be carried out in an hour or so. The implant is carefully and surgically attached to the bone and allowed to heal. The crown is then attached to complete the procedure.
